IGNIFICANT as showing the attention which Tar get Pistol shooting here has attracted, is the an nouncement that Pine hurst lias been selected for one of a series of State Championship Tournaments which will be held simul taneously through the country, under the auspices of the United States Revol ver Association, from March 20th to 25th inclusive. The event will be open to all and the the National Association, the local eh' will also offer cups for the two highosi gross scores not winning the Association medals, made during the tournament. Provision will also be made in order that onlookers may witness the shoot in n during the tournament, and certain hours will be assigned for shooting each even- in considerable interest is being mani fested and a good field of contestants is assured. The local club is to be con gratulated upon the honor conferred by the National Association, for the tourna ment will be the means of adding inter est to this already popular and fascinat ing sport. m:itiiv riaicKtiiH. WIIEKE THE CHILDREN' CONGREGATE. National Association will offer a silver medal for the winner, and a bronze medal for the next one in line, both significant of the State championship, and competi tors may also compete for National honors. The distance will be 20 yards, 50 shots (five shots each at 10 targets), and the event will be shot indoors under arti ficial light, this condition being imposed in order that conditions everywhere may be the same, and because many of the Northern clubs have no outdoor range at this season of the vear. The. work- of establishing a temporary range at the Village Hall has already been begun and will be ready for preliminary practice by members soon. Full details concerning the shoot, will be printed in next week's Outlook. En tries for the event should be sent at once to Herbert L. J ill son, Secretary of the local club, who has been appointed bv the National Association to assume direct charge of the shoot. In addition to the trophies offered by point. Thagards is a popular rendezvous and a merry party spent the day there during the week, taking dinner under the great pines. The company included Mrs. .lames W.
