burst," interfered some
what with the qualifica
tion rounds of the Holiday Week Tour-
feating II. K. Mallinson of New York,
four up and' two to play, in the finals.
George E. McCandless of Allegheny
Country Club, . Pittsburg, came through
a winner in the consolation 0 third divi
sion, defeating W. A. Blakeley of the
same club, three up and two to play in
the finals.
In the special or fourth division, G.
Lee Knight of Philadelphia Country
Club, was the winner, defeating II. W.
Ormsbee of the Cresent Athletic" Club,
Brooklyn, four up and three to play in
the finals.
In qualification Mr. Lard was easily the
winner making an eighty-eight, forty-six
out and forty-two in, leading W. C. John
son of the Canoe Brook Club, who made
ninety-six, forty-seven out, forty-nine
in, eight strokes.

Dr. Emery Marvel of Atlantic City,
won the Secretary's or second division
cup, after a series of good matches, de
ll. It. McClure of New York, qualified
third in ninety-eight, forty-six out and
fifty-two in, and Thos. T. Kushmore of
Garden City, fourth, with one hundred,
forty-seven out and fifty-three in.
