of a busy week in local
hotel circles. Old and new friends have
crowded in day after day, house counts
have mounted merrily upward, good
cheer is radiated everywhere, companion
ships are congenial and life most enjoy
able. A day or so of pouting weather
only served to make the glorious sun
shine which is the general rule, all the
more beautiful. Today and tomorrow
will bring many new comers, old and
new friends who will remain until spring,
and many who will follow the important
golf events of the coming week.
At The Carolina.
Bridge whist, numerous "frolics, danc
ing and many semi-formal social func
tions, filled in a pleasant week, a delight
ful feature being the welcoming of many
returning friends. . The bookings for the
coming week are very large, and the time
when accommodations will be limited is
not far distant.
AMONG THE GUESTS.
Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Fellows, Bucksport, Me.,
join Mr. and Mrs. A. II. Shaw, of Bath, for a
visit. Mr. Fellows is one of Maine's most prom
inent lawyers and was speaker of the House of
Representatives in 1903. "
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. O. Lentz, and Mr. and Mrs.
LaFayette Lentz, Jr., Mauch Chunk, Pa., return
for their second season, and are welcomed by
many former acquaintances.
Mrs. Edward Wigglesworth and maid, Boston,
Miss M. G. McMurtrie, Boston, return for the
winter.
Mr. James B. McKce, Baltimore, and Miss
McKee, will remain some weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Horatio L. Whitridge, Baltimore,
are making a short visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Jno. V. Craven, Miss M. A. Cra
ven, Master I.V.Craven, Jr., and nurse, West
Chester, Pa., return for the season and are
greeted by many former acquaintances. Mr. A.
K. Smiley, Jr., Lake Mohawk, N. Y., is a mem
ber of the party.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter II. Sbuthwick, and son,
Lynn, Mass., were guests of the week.
Mr. J. Gushing Todd, Newburyport, returns
for the second visit of the season and a long so

M-s. W. J. Godfrey, Somerville, Mass., return
for 1 heir sixth season, welcomed by many old

Numerous social pleasures contributed

Inn, Thursday's pool tournament being a
feature which was enjoyed by both par
