An interesting special feature of the St. Valentine's tournament was a medal play handicap arranged for the Stam ford players in the contest, eight in number, for cups purchased by subscrip tion and presented by Herbert L. Jillson, and ofiered for the two best net scores. Dr. Schavoir struck an eighty-eight gait, capturing first with a net score of seventy-six, playing with a handicap of twelve, and the second trophy went to Ex-mayor II. S. Cummings who made eighty-one, playing with an allowance of ten. THE SCORES: Dr. Frederick Schavoir, II. S. Cummings, W. L. Baldwin, I. C. B. Dana, I. E. Raymond, E. L. Scofield, E. E. Here's hoping this may be the u first annual " tournament of Stamford golf ers ! Next year's cup is ready ! Sporting' Notes. Bube Waddell has certainly laid down on his job. He hasn't rescued any fair maidens from ferocious sharks or figured in the Thaw case. Bacing at New Orleans has reached its zenith. From now on the feed man will have some care about extending credit. A
