PINEHURST OUTLOOK THE YILLAGE CLUB FORMED A Gratifying Evidence of Solidification of Permanent Character. Aim Will Ie to Aid Church Iluildiiig Fund and Worthy lleitidents of Vicinity. HE formation of the "Village Club1' at a re cent meeting of inter ested women at the cot tage of Mrs. W. C. Peet, is a significant indication of the solidification of Village life into lines of permanent character and an an nouncement which will be received with pleasure by all. While the club, prima rily, is to be an auxiliary to the church building fund, it, nevertheless, looks for ward with pleasure to helpful work in many other lines, among the most im portant being a general interest in the residents and the children of the vi cinity, and it will be undenominational in its character. In line with aiding the church building fund it was voted to hold a "Hose Garden Bazaar' at The Carolina in February next, and plans were discussed, committees ap pointed, sales articles pledged and money to be used for decoration raised. Five articles each were also pledged by all present, to be sent to Mrs. Leonard Tufts, not later than December first, for use, at a special and preliminary sale, to be held just previous to the Christmas holidays. In charge of the several committees for the Bazaar thu3 early appointed are Mrs. James E. Leach, decorations; Mis. II. W. Ormsbee, sales tables; Mrs. Donald J. lioss, refreshments. rermanent organization was effected by the choice of Mrs. Leonard Tufts as president; Mrs. Gilbert N. McMillan as vice president; Mrs. Herbert L. Jillson as secretary, and Mrs. Peet as treasurer, and the roll of members thus early in cludes the following: Mis. George S. Hill, Mrs. W. S. North, Mrs. J. F. Bullitt, Mrs. Helen M. Sheppard, Mi s. D. J. Koss, Mrs. II. V. Priest, Mrs. George F.Blake, Mrs. G. II. Oldriug, Mrs. J. 1. Coleman, Mrs. II. W. Ormsbee, Mrs. .lames E. Leach, Miss Bruce, Miss Fiske. FINANCIAL STATEMENT. Kegarding the finances of the church building fund Kev. Mr. Bullitt writes : It is hoped to build a simple building of frame and plaster similar in construc tion to The Carolina Music Hall, at a cost of about $4000. As soon as $2000. is se ured the building will be begun. At the beginning of the season there had been raised by the building fund committee the sum of $828.83. During the year $150. has been received in cash and promises of $60. more have been made. Last year there were conditional promises of over $200. more, of which $50. will be paid and possibly more. There is there fore $978.83 now in hand .and at least $110. more promised. This church though built by and for the Episcopal church will, for a long term of years, be open to any other bodv of Protestant Christians desiring to hold COI'Trinn o Si- 4 arrangements are being services in it. made for services to be held next year in the Village Hall from Nov. 17th to Amil 19th, and active efforts will be made to secure the $900. more so that the build ing can be begun next Spring.
