Miss Mix took the fourteenth and fifteenth holes to even the score, Mrs. Chase gain ing the lead again on the long sixteenth with a brilliant putt, the short seven teenth being halved in par three, and Miss Mix winning the eighteenth, five six, to square the match. In qualification Miss Adams won the gold medal o lie red with a card of eighty seven, nine strokes in the lead of Miss Mix, and Mrs. George C. Dutton of the Oakle' Country Club, who tied for sec ond place at ninety-six; Mrs. Dutton withdrawing from the tournament. Mrs. Chase finished third in ninety-seven with the balance of the field well bunched, two divisions of eight each qualifying for the match play rounds. THE SUMMARY. Mrs. Cora Kobertson, a popular musi cal entertainer from London, gave a very delightful entertainment Friday eve ning, which was warmly applauded. The Sunday concert was unusually en joyable, those taking part were Miss G lady s Mitchell, Mrs. A. Blair, Miss Guerrard, Miss Simpson, Mrs. Cooke, Mr. C. L. Old, Mr. Paxton and others. Although in the midst of a full-fledged spring season The Mecklenburg is quite alive to a sense of its importance as a far famed health and pleasure resort, and ex tensive plans and preparations are being made to make the hotel for the coming summer more attractive than ever be fore. Dr. E. C. Laird of Hot Springs, N. C, a prominent and well known phy sician throughout the country, has ac cepted the position as head physician at The Mecklenburg. He was closely identified with this hotel when it was first thrown open to the public, and per sonally superintended the installation of the Baruch baths. Mrs. E. C.
