Although J. A. R. Elliot has been prominent in the trap-shooting world for nearly twenty years, his skill and per-' sonal popularity are still undimmed. In August, 1890, Elliott jumped into the first rank of trap shots by winning the Championship of America at Live Birds, and from that day until this time he has been a dangerous factor in all competi-' tions in which he has taken part. Al though live bird shooting is more of a specialty of his than inanimate targets, he has made many remarkable scores at the latter. He is the only shooter who ever held at one time every world's championship throphy for both live bird and target shooting, and all of these were won with Winchester Factory Loaded Shells and a Winchester Repeating Shot gun, which he uses to the exclusion of all other makes of guns and shells.
