Of extra hole contests there were a number, several being carried to the twentieth green and one to the twenty first, and the short seventeenth and home holes each ended matches in a score of cases, while the usual post mortems were played in club house locker room and hotel lobby night after night. It was golf from cock-crow to taps, and the entire Village caught the enthu siasm, which, for the time being, crowded out all else. It was golf at breakfast, golf at lunch, golf at dinner, and everybody took the piece de resist ance at every meal, " laughed and grew fat." THE SUMMARY.
