THE LAST PAGE of an interesting book lays before us the closing days of the season of 1909-10 and reluctantly we linger over the final paragraph while memory recalls the incidents which have held us captive as the hours have flown. Not a dull chapter has there been, each containing some delightful surprise, some new experience, some pleasant association, always backgrounded by glorious sunshine and mur muring pines. Many characters have passed before us, some but glancing and moving on, others lingering for a time, and a few leaving a permanent impression upon our lives, but hu man interest in each and all. Surely the volume has been one we are glad to have read and shall anticipate reading again, always finding new interest in the familiar pages, for treasured experiences are like good books rare, rare indeed! THE PRESENT is the closing issue of the season, a season in which The Outlook has shared the success of the Village, for the paper is but a mirror reflecting things as they are. We are frequently told that The Outlook Is a "remarkable paper" and while this is gratify ing, we fully realize that Plnehurst Is a re markable place; and that the success of both are dependent upon the Interest of friends. The slncerest indication of our appreciation, therefore, are thanks, for our k best work is al- ways done for others; those whom we feel ap preciate and understand. THE SEASON has in many important partlc- ulars, been the most notable in the entire his- tor 7 of the Village, not alone from the stand point of success, but of achievement as well. More visitors have been entertained than ever before both old and new friends sports have never been more popular, social affairs more general and elaborate, growth along all lines more marked, pointing out clearly the Pine hurst of the f uture-the Pinehurst not alone of America.but of the Would!
