The King-' Chapel Owl The presence of one owl after another perched high in a tree in the King's Chapel Burying Ground during'the last year has caused many a citizen to look up, then to walk into the yard of City Hall and stand there gaping and to fol low with eager eye some one's directing finger. The owl has been a novelty to busy city people and they have wondered about his goings and comings. There have been explanations, but now comes what is vouched for as the reason. Somebody who has an office in the neighborhood is greatly annoyed by the English sparrows, and to rid the burying ground of them he has an owl sent to him .periodically; he looses the wise bird among the trees nearby and the spar rows at once begin to disappear. When the owl is so sated that he seeks a change of diet and leaves the neighborhood, another owl is imported, and once more the sparrows are raided. Maine Man Gives Monies Holiday William C. The day be fore Christmas he told his men that under no circumstances were the horses to be let out on Christmas Day. The day was his Christmas present to the animals. Al though opportunity to let them occurred many times during the day, the horses were left alone to enjoy their Christmas dinners, and it is safe to say that they appreciated their master's gift. -One Cent Damages for Mental Ang-ulnh New Yoek, Dec. 31.
