Mr. and Mrs. David Gregg, Miss Kath arine W. Gregg, Mr. and Mrs. David Gregg, Jr., and Master David Gregg, III, of Brooklyn are again here for their usual Eojourn. Mrs. J.Page Massie of Lynchburg and Miss Katherine Jones of Red Star, W.Va., will remain some time. Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Shaw, Mr. Arthur II. Shaw of Boston, and Mr. John B. Reynolds of New York are here for a lengthy stay. Messrs. John Stambaugh, II. II. Stam baugh, W. B. Hall, R. C. Steese, F. D. Wilkerson and Judge J. B. Kennedy of Youngstown make up a large party who return for shooting. Mrs. F. D. Wilker son is with them. Mr. Henry R. Cool and Mr. Donald McBride of Cleveland join the golfers. Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Straten of Louisville, Ky., come for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Hughes of New York are spending the week here. Mr. Frederick W. Keller of Lawrence ville, 111., comes for several weeks' golf. Mrs. Oliver C. Hutchinson and the Misses Hutchinson of Lansing, Mich., will make a long sojourn. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Price and Mr. James S. Price of Hazelton, Pa., are here for the season, bringing their motor. Mr. Charles Bloomer of Newark and Mr. George D. Morse of Brockton, Mass., return for golf. Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Blackwell of St. Louis will remain several weeks. Mrs. F. G. Underbill of Brooklyn and Mrs. S. W. Rushmore of Plainfield are spending the month here. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Peeples of Chicago spent the week here. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Gardner of Chicago are welcomed back for their annual visit. Miss L. II. Emery of Baltimore and Mrs. E. V. Wait of Watkins were recent visitors who plan to return. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Clough of Alton, N. II., spent the week here. Mr. and Mrs. John G. Luke and Mr. and Mrs. Adam K. Luke of New York return for their usual visit. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Wood, Miss Sarah J Mooiehead and Miss C.R. Wood of Pittsburgh come for a fortnight. Mr. E. S. Walton of Youngstown joins friends. Mr. R. L. Robertson of Toronto is spending several weeks here. Mr. W. Lloyd Pierce of New York will remain through the week. Mr. C. L. Hunter of Chicago returns for the month and will be joined by his family later. Messrs. S. C. Rowland and C. F. Wil liams of Baltimore come for golf. Messrs. N. B. Stark of Montreal and W. II. Stark of Toronto will remain some time. Mr. S. E. Slaymaker and Dr. S. G. Gant of New York are here. Mr. S. B. Chapin of New York returns for golf and shooting. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Linneman of Lima, Ohio, are back for their usual visit. Mr. George F. Brown of Philadelphia returns for golf. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. McCormick of New York come for a fortnight. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Fisher of Brooklyn and Mr. Henry II. Vail of New York are spending the month here. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Bishop of Brook lyn will remain through the week. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Watrous of Providence are enjoying the shooting. Mr. and Mrs W. W. Yenawine of New York will remain through the month. Mr. Herbert M. Adams of Glen Cove returns for golf. And I might add,'' concluded Mr. Briggs, "that the Village of Pinehurst will linger as a bright spot in memory. We have enjoyed every minute of our visit." Mr. Briggs is much interested in the study of cars adapted to touring and their equipment. The test, he saye, is a severe one and the equipment adds much to the pleasure of the journey. At present Mr. Briggs is equipped to prepare luncheon, supper or breakfast ; but he proposes to carry this further by attaching a detach able folding canvas covered bed to the rear of his car ; thus making his equip ment self sufficient as occasion may re quire. The true delights of touring he believes, come through appreciation of the joys of at least occasional camping out. Opening: Tennis Tonrnvy The opening event on the tennis sched ule is an innovation, the afirst annual St. Thomas tournament"; the dates, December 17, 18, 19, 20. The events in clude men's and women's singles, men's and mixed doubles for sterling trophies.
