THE PINEHURST OUTLOOK - 5 COURT HOUSE SQUARE CARTHAGE STATE OF ZVOHTII CAKOIillfA "Th Itenourcea of Every Continent, and the Hal-vent of lb World" North Carolina, in her territorial sweep from the majestic mountains of the west, five hundred miles eastward to the blue waters of the broad Atlantic, where her coast is bordered by the warm flow of the Gulf Stream, is a domain un paralleled in the world. In her range of altitudes she is the playground where nature shows perfectly her every phase; within her boundaries she harbors vast hoards of treasure, and in the infinite variety of her inexhaustible resources she has wealth to the end of time. Her mountain slopes and valleys are studded with gems and precious stones; sapphires, amethysts and emeralds crown the gold in her lowland's reefs. There is iron, copper, mica and all minerals; great measures of coal, and clays for every form of the ceramic arts. From the cloud rimmed peak of Mt. Mitchell, across the rolling uplands of the Piedmont, down to the limpid lagoons and curved beaches of her isle laced shore, there is a range of nearly all climates, and in the varying elevations, on a perfect assortment of fertile soils, there grows a series of ever recurring and increasing yields of the earth's most valuable produce. On the crest of the western ranges, under an azure sky, are the trees of Canada; in the lower Piedmont the quaint, angular long leaf pines sough in the breezes they have made ambrosial; while on her eden-like islands the palm, fig and orange trees of the semi-tropics, are mingled with the moss festooned oaks of those fairyland forests. She is channeled by the courses of many swift rivers, whose clear waters rising high in the mountains, tumble in glittering cascades to roaring torrents in steep walled gorges, sweep into the sun light of the lowlands, and hasten to the sea, with a gigantic potential ample to energize myriads of machines, and to light millions of homes. North Carolina, on whose shores the first colony from England landed, could mother the vast multitude of the new world's race, and in the greatness of her possessions, assure a full measure of suc cess for all. Her surface is now webbed with splendid highways and railroads, and flowing through these pulsing arteries of trade, is the life that has animated her latent wealth, vitalized her opportunities, and made a commercial El Dorado of this magnificent domain, in which are represented the charms of all climes, the resources of every continent, and the harvests of the world. ELM STREET ALONG THE RIDGE Loaded Shotgun Shells "LEADER" AND "REPEATER" You can't buy a safer, faster, harder, a more even shooting or a better keeping load than Winchester "Leader" or "Repeater" smokeless powder shotgun shells. For field, fowl, or trap shooting, they are in a class by themselves, and give entire satisfaction in any make of shotgun. The results they give are due to their patented construction and the careful and exact manner in which they are loaded. The patented Corrugated Head used on Winchester shells is an invaluable feature. It absorbs the shock of the powder explosion and takes the strain from the paper tube instead of localizing it, as the old English method of metal lining does. That's why "Leader" or "Repeater" shells are stronger and less apt to cut off at the mouth than shells made according to English ideas of long ago. The Shells With The Patented Corrugated Heads.
