Breaks number Three Courne
llecord and Groins' Fat
Amateur Champion Ouimet struck his
gait Tuesday, recording rounds of seveny
nine and seventy-seven, following it up
with another seventy-seven Wednesday,
and swinging fairly and squarely into
action with a record breaking seventy
three on course number three Thursday.
If Going out in 3 4 4 3 4 3 5 5 4 for a
total of thirty-five, he came back in
553533644' to record thirty-eight,
and he missed putts on the tenth and
eleventh, took 5 on the thirteeth after
making a tee shot within thirty yards of
the green and recorded 6 on the sixteenth
through a poor tee shot which cost him a
stroke to get the ball into play.
Thursday afternoon, with Hagan as a
partner the National Amateur and the
National Open Champion against Barnes
and MacNamara, furnished one of the
fastest four-ball matches ever played here.
Ouimet 's card was a seventy-six, with an
approximated 4 on the seventeenth where
his tee shot made the trap,' and a 5 on
the eighteenth where he topped and sliced
his drive and was barely out of the rough.
If MacNamara made a brace of thirty:
six's for a total of seventy-two, and his
iron on the seventeenth struck the pin,
making an easy 2 possible. If Hagan
was seventy-five, and Barnes seventy
eight. If The cards:
