H., is in line with Community development. TfNot only will it be modern, but best of all, it will be what is more essential, a "clearing house" for the section; a demand which will create a supply. If you wish to see how corn fodder and cow pea hay can be turned into dollars take a look at the golf course steers Pine hurst is fattening. H The same is true of poultry, hogs, horses. Briefly the all the year, liberty and living Community Pinehurst spells opportunity! And remember always that the pro ducers " market' ' is at his elbow; no freight, middlemen, or commission houses to get the "lawyers share.' ' If Think it over ' ' liberty and living ! " "Any person who becomes ineligible by rea son of this bylaw may be reinstated by giving to tho Executive Committee of this association satisfactory evidence of meriting such rein statement. No occurrence prior to January 8, 1915, shall affect the status of any person who was in good standing as an amateur on said date." As if to prevent arguments on the fore going new rule, the Executive Committee has compiled what it defines as five dis tinct violations, as follows: First. Playing or teaching the game of golf for pay. This includes accepting traveling or living expenses for playing over a course or for participating in a golf tournament, contest or exhibition. Second. Personally making or repairing golf clubs, golf balls or other articles for pay. Third. Serving, after reaching the age of sixteen, as caddie, caddie master or greenkeeper for hire. Fourth. Lending one's name or likeness for the advertisement or sale of anything except as a dealer, manufacturer or inventor thereof in the usual course of business. Fifth. Permitting one's name to be adver tised or published for pay as the author of books or articles on golf which one is not actually the author. p. -. AiniTErn statu defined National Association Intuie Rule Covering- Doubtful Point All doubt as to what constitutes an amateur golfer was dispelled when How ard F. Whitney, secretary of the United States Golf Association, gave out the new rules covering the point, which has been the subject of comment for a year. An amateur golfer is one who has net n. cepted, directly or indirectly, any fee, gratuity, money or its equivalent as a consideration for tne performance of any act or service arising in connection with the game of golf, and who is not or has not been a professional in any omer Dranch of athletics. Provided, however, that the above shall not apply to writing, edit ing or publishing articles, magazines or books on golf, or to laying out, constructing, super vising or giving advice concerning the layout construction or upkeep of a golf course or any part thereof.- THE KIDS CiOT I1IS OOil! Thought Transference Works Havoc With Portly Caruso's Drive "Caruso" poised majectically at the tee, a mild breeze caressing around his portly form. As he addressed the ball and woggled his driver about where he imagined the ball to be, somewheres be low his aldermanic waist line, a couple of nearby kids began to bleat wildly. H Caruso swung and missed. Turning he hurled invectives at his amused companions : If ' ' I think it a darn mean trick for you fellows to spoil my drive that way. " If ' Why, we never spoke a word! " was the aggrieved chorus. If "No," yelled he, "but I knew mighty well what you were thinking!" Clean Sweep for April Fuleihan's Carolina exhibition room is announcing the annual April bar gains. If This is a "clean sweep" sale. Get the Habit: Send The Outlook to friends. It saves letter writing.
