If In the second round I. S. Robeson retired to Topping four and two. ROBESON AND HUNTER Semi-final play claimed a large gallery, with interest centered upon Eobeson and Hunter. H The Wee Burn golfer won the first and third holes and halved the sec ond in 4 's, losing the fourth in 5 where he missed a short putt. Eobeson took the next hole in 4, Hunter recording 6, halved the sixth in 4, .won the seventh in 6, where Hunter stymied himself, halved the eighth and ninth in 4 and 3, to make the turn one up, with a medal of forty to forty-one. If A missed putt cost Hunter the tenth in 5, both players off the course on their tee shots and on the eleventh, and both missing seconds; Eobeson 's fine third re sulting in a 5 6 win. Eobeson was in the rough again on the twelfth and his second was short, but the third was a beauty which made a 4 possible, while Hunter was short on his third and re quired a stroke for a position on the green side by side with the Pawling stu dent. Eobeson 's drive on the thirteenth cost him the hole, a curious slice far over to the right of the fourteenth fairway. His second was still off the course, at the right, his third over, his fourth short and he recorded 6, while Hunter made a fine recovery from a trapped second and went down in 5. Hunter's fourteenth tee shot was in the rough with Eobeson straight down the course and with good distance. Hunter's second was short and likewise his third, but Eobeson was off the course to the right on his second and did well to halve in 5. An over approach cost Eobeson the fifteenth where Hunter re corded a winning 3, and the sixteenth was halved in 5, both players trapped on their drives, and Eobeson failing to take ad vantage of his fine recovery. If On the critical seventeenth both balls were hole high, and just off the green; Eobeson at the right and Hunter at the left. Hunt er 's short second gave Eobeson an advan tage which he failed to embrace, and Hunter hit the cup on his third, Eobeson taking two putts for a halve and a two and one win. Topping's second to the trap on the tenth cost him the hole, 5 4, and both were in trouble from the tee on the eleventh, doing well to record a halve in 6. Topping took the twelfth in 5 where Sullivan's drive went astray, but Sullivan won the thirteenth in. 4 where Topping's long drive made a trap, and the Woodland golfer came back for a win in 5 on the fourteenth where Top- ping was short on his approach putt and recorded a losing 6.
