U 17-N Battery The Constant Condition Side of Alphano for Renovating Greens MR. FLYNN, the greenskeeperof Merion Club at Haverford, Pa-, recently called our atten tion to one very important reason for the superiority of Alphano over manure for greens renovatings. He put great emphasis on the fact that Alphano produced a "constant condition.' ' With manure, he said, there is much straw and unde cayed matter which when it finally does decay, causes a drop to the surface, requiring special work in leveling up. The only way, in many cases, is to remove the sod and fill in below. Alphano being a prepared humus, finely screened, evenly granulated, it incorporates thor oughly with the soil, giving a constant condition.
