A Social Service Committee has been
formed by ladies at Pinehurst to systema
tize the helpful work to be done in this
section. The ladies of the Committee ask
that cases of need be reported direct to
the Field Workers, Mrs. T. A. Cheatham
of Miss Helen Child, so that the work to
be done shall not be unnecessarily dupli
cated nor those requiring assistance be
overlooked. The members of the Com
mittee and all those wishing to assist them
will meet every Friday at 10 a. M. at the
house of the president, Mrs. P. W. Whitte
more, Village Green East. Everyone in
terested is invited to help, either actively
or by contributions or in both ways.

Mr. Crump Says
Nothing So Good as Alphano
For Greens
jyp. George A. Crump of the Pine Valley Club, Sumner, N. J.,
made this strong statement in a recent letter to us:
"It is with pleasure that I write you, to say that
as a top dressing for greens, I have found nothing
so good as your Alphano Humus. Wish I could
construct the whole green of it. Am sure it would
be perfect. No burning out or getting hard. As
a grass food, it leaves nothing to be desired."
To this let us .add that Mr. Crump has had some rather trying
experiences with using a humus which proved to be acid, killing their
grass and requiring the making over of the greens. For this making
over, Alphano will be used exclusively.
