mmmt THE PINEHURST OUTLOOK HOLIDAY GUESTS ARRIVING Carolina Hotel Taking on Christ mas Aspect Last week witnessed the com ing of the railroad magnates and an influx of Tin Whistlers and what might be called a strong undertone of sportsmen, come to take advantage of the unusually good shooting. The Carolina has never been so lively before at this time of year, a great many guests having already come for the holi days, which promises to be more of an occasion than usual in the village. The fox trot is heard once more in the evening and the perrenial bridge fiends solve knotty problems at the old stand. J. S. Russell and William R. Driver have come from Boston to repeat their last year's record on the preserve ; George Crocker, Jr., of Fitchburg is a substantial ad dition to the jockey club, and a strong rider in the Gentlemen's purse ; Mr. W. H. Thayer of Bos ton has arrived with Mrs. Thayer and Miss Nancy, and with W. W. Peabody of New York and H. R. Mallinson is out to trim the Tin Whistles.
