Carolinas has led to
opening the formal
tournament season a
couple of weeks earlier than previously.
The first competition will be on November
10, for the benefit of the many Carolina
players developed here and throughout
the Carolina Association.
Here is a complete schedule of golfing
events, the rules of entry and handicaps
and prizes as handed us by the governors
of the Pinehurst Country Club.
Fourteenth Annual Midwinter
Tournament. December 28, 29, 30, Jan-

only; eighteen holes in all other divisions.

Treasurer 's, Captain 's and Club Trophies
to winners of first six sixteens;
trophies to winners of seventh, eighth,
ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth divis
ions; sterling trophies to first, second,

day, four divisions of eight to qualify.

Championship Trophy to winner of first
eight; Governors' Secretary's and Treas
urer's Trophies to winners of next three
divisions and Sterling Trophies to the
runners-up and consolation winners in
each division.
Seventh Annual Amateur-Professional.
March 30. Four ball best ball
match. First prize $100; second, $50;
third, $25. Trophy for amateur in lead
ing Amateur-Professional pair. Ama
teurs paired together winning a prize will
receive value in plate.
Seventeenth Annual United North
and South Open Championship March
31. Thirty-six holes medal play; ama
teurs winning to receive a trophy. First
prize for professionals $150 ; second prize,
$100; third, $75; fourth, $50; fifth, $25.

REQUIREMENTS
In sending or making entries, please be
careful to give full name, club member
ship, and city or town address. Kindly
make entries as far in advance as possi
ble. Post and telegraph entries are both
accepted.
The charge for the use of the links and
courts is one and a half dollars by the
day, six dollars by the week, twenty dol
lars by the month and thirty dollars for
the season. Children under fourteen, one
half rates. Season tickets for member's
wife and children under twenty-one years,
ten dollars.
