WILLING TRIBUTE Financial Sconts Dine at the Club House Return from All flections of the Country With Thousands of Dollars Collected for the Board of Trade Wednesday evening the war chiefs of the Sand Hills, Leo nard Tufts of Pine hurst and Frank Page of Aberdeen, sent their volunteer scouts to levy willing tribute from the population in support of the community will to flourish and expand, popularly known to many by the title of "The Board of Trade." This new and effective finance committee spent two days on the road, and foregathered Wednes day and Thursday evenings to re turn their treasure and dine at the Pinehurst Country Club. Any body with the slightest interest in the subtleties of finance, or the collective consciousness of a country community or the wel fare of this particular strip of rural new ground would have done well to have been there. Many strange facts were revealed and sidelights, on human nature and many a cynical old saw ex ploded on the spot. It was the first time the new dining room had been used. This spacious and dignified hall, with its great curtains and polished floor, and air of beauty and com fort and well being of itself augured a new era come to the old settlement. It will be a long time before a more whole hearted and constructive company will be found there or elsewhere. There was the sheriff, D. Al. Blue, a man of the people, all pure fighting efficiency and humor, bringing back a rich contribution harvested from the old county seat and from the cabins along the Little River second in welcome only to the stories of the days' diver sion. For unlike any collection agency ever heard of the mem bers of this expedition found a cheerful recention wh prpvpr ir went, and became enamored of the task which led to hearty greetings at so many firesides, ALLEN'S FOOT-EASE The Original Antlseptio Powder for the Feet GOLFERS Tennis and Base Ball Players, Dancers, Walkers use it because it makes their feet comfortable and keeps them in con dition.
