THE PINEHURST OUTOOK Send copies to your friends Gymkhana The horseback squadron and those fond of the saddle started the equestrian games on the polo field again last Tuesday after noon under the management of Mrs. Twitty. Although new to the performance many of the guests in the village took part and gave a pretty good exhibition of horse management, and pro vided an entertainment for a number of spectators as well as themselves. The program was carried out by a brigade composed of Miss Thomas, Miss Ormsbee, Miss Tufts,. Miss Bliss, Miss Abbe, Miss Cheatham, Messrs. Thomas, Langshaw, Ogden, James Tufts, and divers others. It included a potato tournament, in which none could compare with James Tufts in spearing the tubor, what might be called a Rosette joust, a man euver that tested the utmost skill in the manipulation of the mounts, and egg race, a delicate performance, and a ball and buck et sort of horseback slight of hand in which Langshaw showed an intimate knowledge not to be imitated. The games gave prom ise of providing a leading feature to the sport of the coming weeks. Benefit of New Chapel There will be a euchre party and musicale at the Country Club on Monday, February 19th at 8.30 o'clock in the evening for the benefit of the new chapel. All the Cottage Colony and guests at the hotels are cordially invited to attend. TAVERN QUESTS The Week at the H otels The Carolina The week at the Carolina has been enlivened by more than the usual expeditions horseback in to the countryside, and by a fes tival of bridge whist beginning with the Monday afternoon championship.
