So, as we have mentioned before, the Pinehurst Kennel Club is pulling off a nign ciass uog Show on Saturday, the 23 d of March, at the Amphidrome, near the Raee Track. For the benefit of those rare and benighted readers whose Greek does not at once inform them what the Amphidrome is, we will add that it is the new edifice beyond the grand stand, the big indoor arena used as Agricultural Hall during the Fair. The message we are to carry to the public is this.. All dogs that expect to get into this show will have to be en tered by tr.o 19 Mi of March. No use coming with your pomeranian on the 20th. He won't get in. The fee is nothing. That is reasonable. The prizes are manitold and substantial. There will be one for every class, and as many classes as there are kinds of dogs in competition numbers. The class that is causing the greatest furor in Moore County Circles is the Local Hound Dog Class. If you own one of these, bring him along. If he is any good he may win some money, or at least be bought by some fox-hunting crank who wants him more than you do. The judges will be the best in the United States. It is officially guaran teed that one of the Eastern judges from New York will be on hand either William Bruett, editor of Forest and Stream, who has judged no end of specialty shows, or Mrs. Mary Wanner. Dog owners will observe that their entries will have to be benched by 9.15 on the day of the show. The judging will begin at 9.45, regardless. The public is not to be overlooked in this affair. An opportunity will bo given for them to see some of the most classy dogs in the East. Bodo ,the Belgian Police Dog, will be on parade, although he will not compete. He al ready has won his championship three times, and that is enough. Dan Mor gan's French griffon Homere's Jack, the only French griffon that has ever wop in field trials in competition with Ameri can pointers, and himself winner at Madison Square, will be on exhibition. Harry Kirkovers' string of veteran set ters will try to hold their own against all comers which in this country is some contract. But unquestionably the star of the day will be our friend Scotty Mc Greggor. It would be a stony hearted judge with a total lack of humor who could fail to give Scotty a first prize upon his face. As a matter of fact Scotty once came within an ace of get ting a silver setting in a most exclusive North Shore show. The only impedi ment was that he preferred to go rabbit hunting that day and so didn't turn up for the honors. All owners of Dogs please take notice 1. TO ENTER THEM BEFORE THE 19th OF MARCH. 2. THAT THERE WILL BE A SPECIAL CLASS FOR CAROLINA HOUNDS. 3. THAT THERE IS NO -ENTRANCE FEE. a tttat ENTRIES CAN BE MADE TO EITHER. JAY HALL, FRANK BUTLER, CHARLIE PIC QUET OR JULIAN T. BISHOP.
