Putting; ltecord , The prizes offered by the Advertisers for the least number of putts made dur ing an eighteen hole medal round of golf has revived interest in the old scores kept in this matter of putting. As far as can be discovered in the records or in the memory of the oldest inhabitant the record is held by O. B. Wichham, for many years first comer on the Pinehurst links. It was made in the St. Valentine's tournament in 1910, while he was play ing with Cabot Morse of the Walliston Club. He made the eighteen holes with just eighteen putts one putt each on the greens except the 14th and 18th. On the fourteenth he made two putts. So to even up on the eighteenth he made none in other words, he finished this record round by holing a mashie shot from forty yards. Send The Outlook to your friends.
