Ticquet laments that people don't know what it is. He is surprised and pained. For this is a new scoop. It is one of the sensations of the hour. It is a masterpiece. Might as well ask what Macbeth or Zaza is. Why it is better known by any follower of the dramatic art than the Old Homestead. It runs the famous scene at the Derby, and is a cor rect picture of all that is dramatic in the Old World race courses and English Sporting Life. COMING DOWN Stearns JTSake a Seaton Record J. N. Stearns, 3rd, of the Nassau Coun try Club, esablished a new standard of play for the NEW ERA and brought the 1919 record on the Pinehurst links back down to its usual vanishing point last Tuesday. Playing with Bard and Dixon and Fotherinham on Tuesday last, Jan uary 22d, he cracked out a clean 70 over Number 2, which is one under par. As a matter of fact, he was going so strong that at the end of the fourth he was hree under par, and lost that lead over the impossible only on the easy and short 8th and 9th. This left him 1 up on the par medal at the turn. He came back exactly on skedule in 35. In four short months since his advent on the planet he has made a name for himself, and be come the heart and centre of that import ant and fascinating pastime of catching the harmful and unnecessary rats of the commune. He is the acknowledged peer of any Airdale of any age whatever, and the darling of watertrough square. HOTEL ARRIVALS AT THE CAROLINA NEW YORK Mrs. B. G. Earle, J. J. Bryant, Jr., Floyd W.
