Hi 7 THE PINEHURST OUTLOOK leading by a length and apparently wkh plenty of speed in reserve to clinch the victory. Everybody but Hall and Melos was satisfied that Porin rounded the last turn still a length in the lead, but right here things began to happen and Nibbs horse shot past Porin in the last few yards of the race r.nd won by a length. The Class A pace was for blood and $150 and was decided in favor of Lu cella, driven by Swinnerton, who took both of the mile heats, in 2:17 1-4 and 2:16 1-4 respectively. J. C. Thomas' Lucille, the Riderloss Wonder, ran the 4 1-2 furlong in Gl seconds and beat out Kid Nelson and Yates combined, by a half length. Yates wants to try it over again, on condition that Thomas rides his freak horse. Lucille sure doesn't need a jockey. The way she cut in across Kid Nelson's bows at the far corner, where she was comporatively safe from Col. Swigert's watchful ey, was a shame. But what are you going to do about it?
