The Second Match Bound
The Second Match Round was play
cd on Thursday, the upper divisions us
ing Number Three course this time.
Armstrong and Styles came througli to
the semi-finals without any noticeable
difficulty, the former defeating I. G.
Spindler by 3 and 2 and turning in a
7S, while Styles won against Geo. A.
Dixon, Jr., by 7 and 6. Styles went
out in 35 and came home in 38, for a
73, which Armstrong immediately there
after matched with a 73 of his own, in
a four ball match played on the same
course.
Lou Hamilton won the right to op
pose Armstrong in the semi-finals by
defeating C. F. Watson, Jr., by 3 and
2. Hamilton started out on his road to
victory with a rush. He lost four of
tho first five holes.
T. J. Morgan came through in the
lower bracket, .defeating L. D. Pierce
at the 19th hole of a hard fought con
test in which Pierce was 3 down at the
fifth but managed to square things by
the time the 18th was reached.
