Hamilton drove to the eighth green, but took three putts from within 12 feet of the pin and had to be satisfied with a half. He missed another two-foot putt for a win at the ninth and they halved in four, leaving Purves two up at the turn. The tenth was halved in fours and th fifth in fives. Both drove well to the eleventh and twelfth, but Hamilton hooked his second to the rough and Pur ves played the finest shot of the match, a full iron within four feet of the cup. Hamilton just got out with his third and conceded the hole. They halved the thir teenth in fours and the fourteenth in fives, Purves rimming the cup at the thirteenth for a three and at the four teenth for a four. The match ended on the fifteenth green when Purves dropped a 12-foot putt for a three, and Hamilton missed one of eight feet for a half. Vernon, beat W. L. Powers, Englewood, two up (27 holes) in Class C. Mrs. Eberhard Faber of Englewood, won the first division trophy in the wo man's tournament, eliminating Mrs. W. S. Bird of Sleepy Hollow in the semi final round, and Mrs. G. W. Fordyce of Youngstown, in the final round. Four other contests were decided Sat urday. The mixed foursome was won by Mrs. George Stearns, St. Albans, and H. V. II. Proskey, North Hempstead, with 102-4458. Mrs. Guy Pierce, New York, and C. E. Johnson, Evanston, were sec ond with 108-4464, and Mrs. Carl Bal liett, Greensboro, and George Stearns, St. Albans, third, with 118-5067. The advertisers were allowed to select their own handicaps in an honor medal handicap event. George Stearns won this with 101-3071. II. J. Frost, Siwanoy, with 92-2072, was second and Frank Finney, 82-973, third. A. S. Iliggins, St. Andrews, won the putting contest with 21 for 12 corners, and Mrs. W. S.
