THEATRE
The Red Dance—Dolores del Rio in a famous Fox special. The pic
ture which was engaged for an extended run at the Globe Theatre in
New York at $2.00 per seat and was later moved to the Roxie Palace.
It is an unusdal attraction and comes to the Carolina before it is released
over the general circuits. Friday, December 14th.
Dream of Love—Starring Joan Crawford and Nils Asther in a Metro
Goldwin super-special. The story is adapted from the famous play,
Adrienne Lecouvreur, by Scribe and Legouve, which is based on historic
facts in the life of Adrienne Lecouvreur, one of the foremost actresses of
Europe, and Maurice Sax, 'a spectacular and dramatic figure of history.
The play was originally written for Rachel of the Comedie Francaise,
and had its premiere there in 1849. The role of Adrienne has been inter
preted by Rachel, Bernhardt and Modjeska. Fred Niblo, who directed
Ben Hur, had charge of the screening of the French classic. Monday,
December 17th. **
The Woman of Affairs—The picture that the whole country is wait
ing to see. The famous screen lovers, Greta Garbo and John Gilbert,
head an all-star cast including Dorothy Sebastian, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr.,
Hobart Bosworth, John Mack Brown and—Lewis Stone. Advance press
notices give the assurance that this picture is even greater than Flesh and
the Devil, which was one of the sensations of the past season. The story
deals with society life in Mayfair and is adapted from the famous story,
