It is interesting to look over the early pic
tures of the Sandhills development and then
compare the present with the past.
Sandy barrens then for sure. Sandy barrens
now, no longer.
The landscape engineers have wrought a
famous miracle, for the Pinehurst territory
is now one of the ideals in landscape work on
a broad scale.
The new crop of pine trees has come on.
The new crop of other trees have kept pace.
But the biig change is in the limitless planting
