The fair will be open from noon to 9 p.m, each of the three days, Northampton County will be represented among the 55 crafts men by Mrs. R. 0, Harris of Garysburg. Mrs. Harris will be showing feather, fabric and straw hat making. Mrs. Harris is a member of the Garysburg Extension Home makers Club and has been making hats for years. She received some training at a workshop held in Northampton County in 1959 on straw hat making and oneheld on fabric hat making. Mrs, Har ris later attended the district craft workshop in Greenville and learned to make feather hats. “She has always put into practice what she learned and is an un selfish leader who has conduct ed many workshops in our county, teaching others how to make hats. We are especially pleased that Mrs. Harris has been accepted into the craftsman’s fair this year,” commented Mrs. Autrey B, Jenkins, Northampton County home economics extension agent. The Conway 4-H’ers under the leadership of Mrs, Lynmore Gay and Mrs, Linwood Ward will be featured in the Youth Cen ter. These boys and girls will be demonstrating on Thursday, April 20, from 5 to 9 p.m. steps in copper tooling. They will also have their finished products on display. Youths from 10 other counties will be demonstrating the other two days of the fair. Admission will be charged. Some of the crafts to be seen are weaving, caning, cornshuck dolls and mats, wood carvingj cooper tooling, wheel thorn stoneware, crewel embroidery and hat making. Brenda Morgan To Wed In June SEABOARD - The engagement of Miss Brenda Morgan to James Weathers Pearson has been an nounced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Weathers Pearson of Seaboard. Mr. Pearson is the son of Mrs. Willie Harris Pearson of Roanoke Rapids and James Grady Pearson of Richmond. The wedding will take place on June 17 in Galatie Baptist Church.
