The cost of doing so has run into thousands of dollars,” said Frank G. Bock, plant manager of the Georgia- Pacific Conway Resin Plant, in an interview with your Home Newspaper Wednesday. Bock stated his plant makes over two dozen resin products and the output runs‘to about six million pounds of phenolic resins each month. About 10 per cent of the production is used by the Georgia-Pacific Hardboard Plant, which is adjacent to the resin plant. The remainder is used in four other Georgia-Pacific plants, as well as Eastside Teachers Aided By Parents By Alan Ward Staff Writer WOODLAND — “I do not know the needs of the state yet, so I will not take a stand on tax reduction until I know what all the facts are,” said Representative-Elect J. Guy Revelle of Northampton County in an interview with your Home Newspaper JACKSON — If you ask a group of classroom teachers what they would like to see happen to their schools, chances are most of them would say they would like to receive assistance in their classroom activities. Parents of Eastside Elementary School, near Jackson, are giving this assistance to the teachers and they are doing it without any financial remuneration. Their only reward is the gratitude they receive from the children and teachers. Principal Chester Hawkins explained to the parents two months ago at a Parents Teachers Association meeting that realignment of some programs had made it difficult to carry on library and other non-teaching activities. He also said that corporate management of Georgia-Pacific includes many who enjoy outdoor activities and they want a clean environment, too. The final effluent of the Conway plant goes into Paddy’s Delight Creek, which flows into Doolittle Mill Pond, a private fishing club pond, Paddy’s Delight Creek is a Class B stream, which means it is suitable for swimming. “In order to meet the standards set by law, we are now operating a ‘closed system’ to wash out the resin recorded its 19th and 20th reactors and trucks and for traffic fatalities Saturday the water used to make resins, night when a car sped out of This water is stored in two control on a rural North- lagoons and is used over and ampton road west of here, over again, so it does not enter Jesse Bernard Gatling, 38, (See PLANT, Page 3) of Pendleton and Edward Lee (See DEATHS, Page 3) Representative-Elect Revelle Looking To Raleigh Session Tuesday. “There are two statements I will make,” he continued. “I agree with the governor in that there should not be a tax on non-prescription medicines. MURFREESBORO — A four-county rural transportation system should be in full operation within 90 days, reports Jim Barnett, associate director of the Choanoke Area Development Association. The transportation system is already being utilized by the Evaluation Center of Halifax Technical Institute to transport clients to and from the center in Weldon to and from their rural homes. The transportation system, the first of its kind in this area of the country, will operate under a separate corporation from CADA. The corporation has not yet been chartered, but its formation is expected in the near future. “Systems like this in other counties resulted in legal problems which they (CADA) Advent Starts Sunday RICH SQUARE - This Sunday will mark the beginning of Advent, the first of the four Sundays before Christmas.
