Tli3 latest report j says that the negro died Tuesday night, and iu the morning of the same day Corhran disappeared and has not yet been found. Death of Mr. Caliahan. Mr. J. Thomas Callahan died at his j home near the S. C. & G. E. Station, this morning at the hour of six ocicck, after a long illness. Mr. Callahan was one, of the county's best citizens, a gen erous' and upright man, highly respected by all who knew him. He was married about twenty-three years ago to Miss Hat tie Justice and she with three chil- j dren are left to mourn his death. The funeral will take place to-morrow after noon at 2 o'clock from the Bantist church, of this place, of which deceased has long been a faithful member. The Tribune extends sympathy to the sor-' rowing family aud friends. Mr. Hicks st San Francisco. Dr. O. Hicks, of Caroleen, received a postal card tliis morning from his. son, Mr. O. P. Hicks, dated San Francisco, in which he says he is on his way home from the Philippine Islands, where he has been doing duty in the army for nearly two years. He belonged to Ri ley's Battery and was present at the siege of Pekin, China, where the cap tain lost his life. Mr. Hicks' many friends will be glad to welcome him to his old home." At the Baptist Church Thursday. Thanks-giving services will lie held in the Baptist church on the morning of November 2Sth, at eleven o'clock. During the service a collection will bo tateu for the benefit of .the Thomasville Orphanage, and all people are invited to come and worship God at this service.
