On motion, it is ordered that an
election 1*, and t he same is hereby,
called to be held on the filet Tues
day after the fim Monday in May,
1001, to wit: on the 7th day of May,
1001, at which time there (hall be
submitted to the qualified voters of
the town of Rockingham the ques
tion as to whether or not the Com
missioners of said town shall an
nually levy a special tax of not less
than HO cents nor more than 40
cents on the One Handled Dollars
valuation of all the taxable proper
ty In said town, end upon the poll
of not lees than IK) cents nor more
than One Dollar and twenty cents,
for the mtrpnee of eetablishsng and
maintaining a Graded School in
said town, pursuant to an act of
the Oeneral Assembly of 1001, en
titled "An Act to Establish Qraded
Schools and Electric Light System
in thstown of Rockingham, North
Carolina.”
