The Post-Dispatch has on this page the vote by precincts, and the vote for each election since 1916. Despite the rain that fell prac tically all day, a fairly large vote was polled. Two years ago the Republicans polled 1071 votes and the Democrats 3412. This year the. Republicans pollad 228 for sheriff and the Democrats 2495, making the majority (for Sheriff) 2267. Thus it is seen that the Democratic majority Tues day was larger in proportion than the maionty of two years ago.
