Build Monument tai Memory of
the Confederate Veterans.
The Pee Dee Guards Chapter of
the U. D. C, are now waging an ac
tive campaign to raise funds to ereet
a monument to the memory of the
Confederate veterans of Richmond
county. This monument will be
placed at the county-seat. The Chap
ter is making this appeal through
the two county papers, and urging
that our county-people lend thehr
financial support. It is manifestly
impossible to interview every per
son in the county; henee this gen
eral appeal. And you are asked to
fill in this coupon and mail or give

the Rockingham City Schools will be
held May 29th-June 2nd. At the
elementary schools there will be the
usual school exhibits of pupils' work
in each grade and exercises in which

Senior Class in the history of the
Schools 15 boys and 47 girls, a total
of 62, all of whom it is hoped will
