Killed in Battle in Germany on June 6, . 1918, and is buried Overseas. Was in the 49th Company of the Fifth Regiment Marines. 7 a sister, Mrs. Ethel Whitlock ol Aberdeen, another sister, Mrs. Carrie Poole of Chesterfield, and John Franklin. Blalock who en listed in the Marines in 19JW, and was killed in battle over seas June 6, 1918. He is buried in France. Mrs. Blalock became one of the two original Gold Star "mothers" for Richmond county, by reason of John's mother being dead and she a surviving sister. And she was a member of the Legion-Auxiliary Post here. Her father, Julius Blalock, was married a second time ; and to this marriage there survives five children all half-sisters and half-brothers of .Miss. Jen nie; they are Cecil Blalock of Atlanta, x Laurin Blalock " of Hamlet, Mrs. John (Fannie) Austin of Tampa, Mrs. Richard (Eunice) Milham of Hamlet, Mrs. J. W. (Ruth) Hayes of Hamlet. .-.
