RESERVE: Parker Transfers Announcement was made at Steeles Plant of the Burlington Mills June 29th that J. E. Parker has accepted a transfer, to the company's plant at Fayetteville and has already assumed his duties there. His position with Burlington is Methods and Standards engineer, a capacity in which he has . served at Steeles since 1946. He and Mrs? Parker, with their young son, have been residing at Cordova. Mrs. Parker and the boy will also go to Fayetteville as soon as living quarters are available, which will probably be about Aug. 1st. Mrs. Parker is a pub lic health- nurse, and has been connected with the Richmond County Health Department for several years,. a position which she resigned as of June 27th. Mrs. Walker with Health ttep'tm't Mrs. Worth Walker has accept ed a position with the Richmond County Health Department, ac-r cording to an' announcement made yesterday by Dr. George Reeves, the department head. She fills the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mrs. Tommy Allen several weeks ago. Mrs. Walker, who is a native of Louisiana, is a graduate of the Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans, where she did special work in the field of public health. For a while she was employed by the Lou isiana Health Department, and later- was in the Army Nursing Corps; serving in North Africa. While in the service she met and married Worth G. Walker, of the U. S. Navy, while in Africa, in 1944. They have lived In Rockingham since 1946. They have two boys, aged 7 and ZVz- 1 . . . JIMMY COLE VISITS HERE Jimmy Cole, of Camp Gor don, spent the. past week-end here with his home folks, re turning to his post of duty June 28th. Young Cole has been at! his present base for the past several weeks and is.nearing the end of his special technical course of training for the Air Signal Corps. He will probably go from there to Fort Benning for a short course before enter ing an Officers Candidate School.
