A few persons kicked by mules, scores of men cheated and swindled, an immense amount of lying done, and. our rising generation again dosed with obscenity, vulgarity, and pro fanity. The christian men and wo men may sow the seeds of purity in the hearts of the young but the devil has his seedsmen filling their hearts with tares. The Y. M. C. A., aided by the Y. L. C. A., gave a festival on the night of the 1st inst., for the benefit of the Y. M. C. A., and about 25 dollars were added to its treasury, and while we have reasons to thank many gdod people for their dona tions and words of encouragement, there are those whose opposition is both surpising and deplorable. The excitement and desire conse quent upon the new county move ment is growing in every direction.
