In order to spend a comfortable,
heolthful summer whether at
home or at some resort, says the
State Board of Health, one must
ilooktirst to diet, then to his
bathing, and then to his sleep,.
exercise and recreation. A few 1
P'tiera! precautions are
also ln-
clUuei1 1,1 t,ie
t.
The diet should consist largely I
of raw and cooked fruit, well
cooked vegat.ibles, milk and but
ter, but very little of moat, eggs
and heavy t.iods. (im-should eat
less in summer than m winter
especially of heat producing
Ioous such ,H meats, eggs
and pastries. Resides producing '
heat they tend to constipation
and mental slugiM- hnoss. I irink
much water but not quantities of
ice wan'r APoveall avnni con
stipation.
Take a bath eer day. A
cold sponge bath every morning:
on getting out of bed and atubi
bath at night will do much to
ward keeping the body in good!
condition and will make for com-;
fort as well. I
Sleep regularly eight hours. Ifj
a a.l practical s.eep out on a j
s eepmg porch. Arrange to ;
sieep in as mucn moving air as!
possible. Nothing enables one
to withstand the moist beat of
summer with ease as plenty of
undisturbed sleep in the ,,pen
air.
Exercise some every day.
Open air games in the cool of
the day are good for both the
mind and the body. Don't leave
ofr walking because the weather
is warm. Walk early in the
morning or late in the afternoon.
Walking is always essential to
health.
Recreation is another form of
mental and physical rest which is
necessary to mental and physica.
health. Vacations, outir.ns.
camping parties - anything that
