Law) ert Will Aid Rfgistraits Without . Clarke Korth Carolina. Halifax County. Having leen no tified by the Ioml Kxemption Board of Halifax County that on December 15th. 111? said Ucal Board expects to receive instruc tions to mail questional to all registrants under the selective draft in Halifax County except those who are already in camp, and being requested by said Local Board to appoint commit tees throughout the County whose duty it will be to assist the postal authorities in deliver ing the questionaires and to assist said registrants in answer ing said questionaires, I have appointed the following commit tees; Roanoke Rapids: W. It will be the duties of this committee, first, to see that the registrant receives the question al directed to him, and second, to see that said registrant is given such advice and aid as may be necessary in filling out said questionaire and returning same to the Local Board. Every lawyer in Halifax County is ready and willing to assist these committees and registrants in these duties without fee or compensation. Let every registrant be on the lookout for his questionaire and upon receipt of same let him get in touch with the nearest com mittee or with some lawyer. Let every newspaper of the county publish the names and postoffice addresses of said re gistrants, and through its columns inform them of the law with respect to the questionaires. Let every citizen assist the postal authorities and these com mittees in locating the regis trants. A giant task confronts the Local Board and the registrants under the selective draft, and "both should have the hearty co operation of every citizen and agency in the county in order that the work of the Board may be done with dispatch, and that no penalty or punishment may attach to any registrant in Hali fax County. JUNIOR CHAUTAUQUA TUESDAY NIGHT "Waste Makes Want"- a good old time-proved proverb! Yet the timeliest of sentiments for today and how we are all heedinglt now under the newer, perhaps more scientific sounding word 'Conservation'! , And it is not only the grown ups these days who are talking about it The Juniors also have a part in savjng and right well have they responded to the appeal! A golden opportunity, then for us to install a much needed lesson into the boys and girls minds-that 'after the war! they may be so in the habit and re gard it as so essential a principle of life, that they will grow up practicing it The theme of the third meet ing of the Junior Chautauqua Winter Club is taken from this same old saying, "Waste makes Want". The program will be of interest and entertainment to both old and young, and the grown ups are invited to come and see what the boys and girls are doing. On December 11 in the Central School at 3 o'clock. We hope to see you there! Supervisor Junior Chaut. Win ter Clubs. Parcel Post During Christmas Rush On account of the crowded condition of the postoffice, and the limited amount of help we have, we kindly ask the co operation of the public dur ing the Christmas Holidays. Mail your packages early so that they will have plenty time to reach their destination. See that they are SECURELY WRAPPED and LEGIBLY ADDRESSED so that they will reach their destination in good order. Do not bring packages to be weighed right at mail time as we will not have time to attend to them then. See that your name and address is legibly written in the upper left hand corner. Such co-operation will enable us to handle the Christmas rush more satisfactorily to the public and will be greatly appreciated by the entire office force. M. McRAE FAISON.
