The Joys of Preaching the Cospel
Last Sunday the Christian
minister had an appointment to
preach in Enfield at three o'clock.
Johnny Stokesberry agreed to
try make the trip on his motor
cycle. We left Rosemary about j number is large, as well as sug
one o'clock. All went well until , gesting very forcefully that a
we got within about six miles of
Enfield and the chain broke. We
borrowed two axes from a negro
nearby and proceeded to fix the
chain. When all was well, we
made another start, but some
thing again went wrong, and we
stopped. This trouble was soon
adjusted, and our next stop was
made within about one mile of
Enfield whn we had a "blow
out". It was then ten minutes
before time for services. Several
cars came up, ami we got in one
and went on to fill our appoint
ment, When services were over,
one of the members carried us to
the place of the wreck. We were
there a good while and seemed
to make no headway.lt was then
nearly five o'clock and it did not
seem as though we would get
back to Rosemary in time to
hold services, but soon, two boys
from Weldon who had been out
driving came up and asked us
if we wanted to go to Weldon.
We accepted the invitation. L'pon
arriving in Weldon, we could
not find a car ready, and so we
proceeded to walk in order to
get back for services. We did not
go far, however, when Peter
Shell, well known in the com
munity came along and landed
us safely back home and thus
saved the day.
