It calls attention to the fact that it becomes a jiermanent record i' iiiiitHVUV a.wvau of the service the family renders to this call of the Government, and that after it is made nothing has the power to change it. It would warn against the tendency j of family heads to underestimate the importance of this request of the Government and to nledire to little to the cause, an amount that would not be representa tiveofthe family's ability to save and lend to the Govenment nor their willingness to serve their Country at this imj)ertative hour. It advises that every family take time before making the pledge to consider, first what it owes to the soldiers now in the heat of battle fighting and dying and, second, what would their money be worth to them if Ger many should win the War.
