I wish they could see us now as we are packing up our equip ment and preparing to cross the Atlantic, we are glad to have the opportunity of taking this trip. This is a very lively bunch of boys, I wish our friends at Roan oke Rapids could hear them sing, "Its a long way to Berlin." My friend Lewi9 Jones, returned from the hospital last week, and will take pleasure in joining us on our voyage, we are glad to have him with us. He is the smallest man of our Battery, but we enjoy his company. I am glad to say that I was so fortunate as to read the Herald last week, hope we may have the opportunity of reading them occasionally after we reach France, we hope to soon com plete our work over there and return home. Charlie Rice, Jack Smith and myself, visited Mr. Sam Marks of D. B. Brigade last Tuesday night, was very glad to see an other boy here from Roanoke Rapids, wish he was ready to accompany us on France. Best regards for all niy friends, Charlie W.
