X. The Herald's editorial in part follows: I 'ei logos which train young men and women in special lines are doing many things for the advancement of the countrv and the world. There arc auricul- i o 11 . tural colleges which are turning . t . . f , ooys omi ai i years oi ae v, no are bettor farmers than their l rand fat hers at thi aee of 7.V There rp dnrw.V ' ,),.,,. schools which arc making bettor housekeepers of young girls than their mothers and grandmothers ever were. And there are schools of journalism which are putting into newspaper offices boys with tranung equal to the old fellows who have spent their lives at the desk. But, in all these schools there are outcropping of the callow ness of youth. For instance, many young graduates from agricul tural schools blush when they are called farmers-they want a name of more dignified tone. some young women from the cientific courses object to the'b'r represent twelve other re- 1.1 '.,U:., 1 spoak of their "domnstie science' In the schools of journalists the same spirit prevails among a certain class of graduates. They are "journalists" and they do not want to be known as e.litors f "country" newspaper. That term has been the pride of the old fellows, lecauseit distingui shes them from the city news paper man. Around the name of "country newspaper" clings much of the ,u"""111- aim oisMinnuu ui mo business, and the older a man gets in the business, the more he is proud of his distinction as editor of a real country news paper.
