Peacock, director of the Home, that they were sending an in terior decorator to give the Gault Home a new look. Peacock said Dallas, Inc. would completely furnish the down· atairs portion of the spacious home. It will be used as the administration building upon completion of the first Boys Home cottage. Progress on the cottage was encouraging. With volunteer la bor from the Good Shephert'. Home and Clinic at Lake Wae· camaw, the plumbing has been completed. "We completed the plumbing when we held a 'Plumber's Day' recently," said Peacock. Plans point now to holding several additional events to push toward the final completion of the project. The bucka-month club mem-aa bership has surged with dona tions piling up three times ahead of this time last month. Peacock said the Whiteville Lions Club would be fetod Friday night. Tabor City Civitans will visit Boys Home on Monday. Septem ber 24. A film on Boys Home, to be shown statewide in the near fu ture, is expected to be available when local Civitans visit the Home. Yam Festival Program Book Near Completion This year's Yam Festival pro gram book, complete with yam dish recipes, is almost complet ed. Bob Black, executive-secre tary of the Merchants Associa tion, said today that approxi mately 90 percent of local mer chants participated in the Pro gram through contributing to the advertising campaign Last year's program, a big hit with festival visitors, was mail ed throughout the country. Her vet-husband must have served in the Armed For ces between September 16. 1940 and July 25. 1947 or from June 27, 1950 and January 31. 1945. Her husband's death must have been the result of service while on active duty or must have been caused by a service con nected disability if discharged under conditions other than dis honorable. Assault Charge Nets Tabor Man Road Sentence A Tabor City man was sen tenced to four months on thr roads last week after beinjr found ffuilty of assault on a 14-year-old Indian jrirl. Brady Wrisrht. 41. was sen tenced Friday in Domestic Re lations Court at Greensboro by Judge B. Gordon Gentry. Wright entered a plea of "not eulity" and testified that be was "all confused" and did not re member the incident. The alleged assault occurred when Wright mistook the Indian erirl and her sister for Neproes.
