SAMUEL BROUGHTON DEAL HERE Miss Patricia Raye Oliver, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Oliver, of Loris, and Samuel Broughton Deal, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, son of Mrs. Samuel Caldwell Deal aiid the late Mr. Deal of Greenwood. South Carolina, were married Saturdjy, September 2 at 4 p. m. in the First Baptist Church of Loris. The Rev. James E. Foster, of Loris, officiated at the double-ring ceremonv. Walter i ~ ι Taylor, organist, and William j Michael Hamilton, cousin of the bride, of Washington. D. C., presented a program of nuptia) music. The bride, given in marri : age by her father, wore a gown of Alencon lace and bou quet taffeta. The lace bodice, studded with sequins and seed pearls, featured a scalloped Sabrina neckline and bracelet sleeves. The skirt was accent I ed with appliques of lace and encieri 111 ;t chapel train. Her finger-tip veil of imported French illusion was held by a jeweled I nee crown. The gown was designed and made by her aunt, .Mrs. William Mario. I Hamilton of Fairmont, North I Carolina. The wedding is planned for October. Coast Guard Seeking Men For Its Academy I Rear Admiral Theodore J. ι Fabik. USCG. Commander, I Seventh Coast Guard District I with Headquarters in Miami, Fla., has recently announced that the C<»ast Guard is cur I rently conducting its annual ' entrance examinations for ap pointment to the United States Coast Guard Academy on 19 and 2il February 1962. Those examinations will be held at the Civil Service Examination Centers in a number of towns, including. -st'-n. Savannah, Ga.; Georgetown. S. C. Tlie purpose of the exams is list with no quotas for any State. District or special cata ry. Appointments are then made by the Commandant of the Coast Guard to those young men who have demon strated to the satisfaction υ the Commandant that they an mentally, morally and physic ally sound citizens of their community. New Falcon lines S On Displny Friday The Kord Falcon for 1962 boasts new styling, an expan sion of the economy and inain tenance-free features that have made it the best selling com pact car in the country, and the addition of two new mod els. The new models are a Falcon Sqtiire station wagon and a De luxe Club Wagon. While describing the com pact car's new styling as still "distinctively Falcon." Matthew S. McLaughlin, general sales manager of Ford Motor Com pany's Ford Division, pointed out that the Falcon has a now grille, new front fenders and ' hood, and larger taillights, but still retains the inside-outsidc dimensions of its predecessors. On the interior, the instru ment cluster has been revamp ed and there are new fabrics, styles and colors for all models. In addition. Mr. McLaughlin stated. 62 engineering improve ments have been incorporated into the 1962 models. The new Falcon line of 13 models will be introduced by Ford dealers on September 29. Included in the Falcon line of 13 models being offered for 1P62 are — standard and de luxe two and four-door sedans, two-door Future, standard and deluxe two and four-door sta tion wagons, four-door Squire station wagon.
