A Uj m l - A-" Ameeting of special-importance held in Greensboro yesterday after noon was that of the Central Exe cutive committee of the North Caro lina Sunday School association which met in the Young Men's Christian Association rooms, at 2 o'clock and continued in session two hours. The following members of the .committee were present: Dr. W. A. Harper. Elon college, -president; N. B. Broughton, Raleigh;- A. E. Tate, High Point; George W. Watts, Durham; C. S. Starbuck, Winston-Salem; G. H Mills, R. G. Vaughan, and W. M. Combs of Greensboro. The general secretaryj. W. Long, of Greensboro, made a report of the work from May 14, when he was elected, to date which showed that there had been a great deal of work done in the state during the year notwithstanding the fact that no one has been in the field the entire time Dr. C. W. Byrd, pastor of the West Market Street church, was made a member of the central executive committee, Rev. R. M. Andrews and Rev. Shuford Peeler, members of the general committee to fill va cancies. Miss Martha S. Dozipr a former member of the faculty of Greensboro Female college, was elected office secretary. The following were appointed a commitee on finance: W. M Combs, G. H. Miles and R. G. Vaughen: R. M. Phillips, C. C. McLahTand W. M. Combs were made a committee on headquarters and Dr. W. A. Harber Prof. W. a Smith, Prof. R. A. Mer- ritt, N. B. Broughton and Rev. J. W. Long were appointed a committee oncogram for the state conven tion which meets in Greensboro in April, the exact date to be decided soon. . The new offices in the Bannpr building recently opened as head quarters of the association vete visited by members of the commit tee, and approved as a desirable home for the Sunday school cause of-North Carolina.
