We are having some rain now. Mr. Sam Elders arid Miss Cordelia Gibson were married in the pres ence of a large number of friends, James Turpin performing the cere mony. Rev. Anthony filled his appoint ment here Saturday and Sunday. ! There was a large crowd out Sun day and the ordinance of the Lord's Supper was administered to the menbers of the church. J. K Gutner L has been ' to Hay wood to visit his daughter., Charlie Dills has moved back here from Canton. Mr. K. Howell's son, from'Qualla, has been visiting his uncle, Jim Turpin. ; Mrs. Jess' Gibson is still sick, but we hope she will soon recover.' W. NORTH CAROLINA BIBLE CONFERENCE August could go to no place in the mountains where they could receive more refreshment and ac complish more for the cause of Christ in 10 days' time. We are expecting to give free entertain ment to all ministers who will at tend the Conference. Fair for all others while in attendance will be put at the very lowest possible rates This Conference is under the au spices of an executive committee selected from the churches in Syl va, with Rev. T. F. Deitz of Bryson City. The pastors of Sylva will put forth every effort to make it a pleasure and profit to every one present We hope to soon complete our programme and more fully state the aim and object of this confer ence. Young will engage in a sham battle The veterans of the war between the States will be the guestsr of the fair on this day and they and wid ows of veterans will be provided with free tickets. A noted speaker of national reputation will deliver an address on this occasion. 1 The fair will be closed with Western North Carolina day, when there will be varied arausernents This conference is to be held at Sylva N.
