Now that the Jackson County Fair is "over, the next large event on the program is the sinjging con vention at Cullbwhee the third Sat urday and Sunday in October. - We understand that there is soon to be a roller mill in operation at Cullowhee. This will be a great advantage to the people of upper Jackson, and no doubt will stimu late wheat raising to a considerable extent. - The new school houses at Speed well and Fall Cliff are nearihg com pletion and soon the public schools at these points will be running in new and wefl euipp dt school houses. : 1 One of the twins of Mr. and Mrs. J. Ramsey Dills died last Friday night and was buried at the Speed well cemetery Saturday afternoon. One of the twins of Mr. - and Mrs. Amos Ash died of Sylva died Satur day night and was Jburied at the Taylor graveyard Monday. , Mr. Duff Monteith of Dillsboro, spent a night in Speedwell. Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Watson, orig inally of Jackson county but now of Yancy county, are now on a visit to relatives and friends in Jackson.
