BUCHANAN GIVES ANNOUNCEMENT PARTY One of the most delightful social events of the spring season was the "At Home" given by Mrs. James Ramsey Buchanan, on Friday after noon, May eleventh, announcing tfec approaching marriage of her young est sister, Miss Pearl Long, to Mr. II. E. Buchanan. The announcement was made by Mrs. Buchanan's small daughter, dressed as a tiny Cupid, carrying a heart on which yre re writ ten the names of the young couple and the date of the wedding, June 19. The house was tastefully decorat ed with spring flowers, the color scheme of orchid and blue being especially v. u i active in the dinning room. Mrs. Buchanan was assisted in serving a two course collation by Mrs. J. L. Dillard and Miss Mayme Long. , About forty* guects called during the afternoon. Miss Abernethy is the youngest daughter of Rev. and Mrs. L. B. Abernethy, who lived at ?ullowhec for several years. Rev.
